Broadway Park Renovation

Seaside School District was faced with a Title IX resolution with the Office of Civil Rights (OCR). ZCS assisted the District with bringing equity to their baseball and softball facilities. While the primary project goal was to satisfy the OCR, the District took this as an opportunity to complete significant upgrades to the entire complex. The softball field was relocated so as to not overlap with the softball/football field, allowing for multiple sports to be played at once. New dugouts, sports field lighting, storage, and a press box were added to the softball field, and new parking lots, walking paths, and other improvements were made sitewide.

ZCS worked with the District to develop a master plan for the property, which was a complex endeavor due to the numerous stakeholder groups who utilize the park. We conducted public meetings with design advisory committees and provided constant progress updates to the involved public agencies throughout the master planning process. Once the plan was finalized and a project budget was realized, ZCS was then hired to prepare the construction documents necessary for the development. We took care to phase the construction process to best align with the District’s budget needs.
