Glendale School District
ZCS assisted the Glendale School District in successfully navigating the State of Oregon’s Seismic Rehabilitation Grant Program (SRGP) application process for Glendale Elementary School, helping secure critical funding to improve the safety and resilience of the campus. Once the District received the grant, ZCS was contracted to provide full design services for the seismic rehabilitation effort.
The project scope included the removal of the existing roof to strengthen the diaphragm and installation of a new, modern roof package designed to meet current seismic standards. Seismic isolation joints were strategically placed between buildings to allow for independent movement during a seismic event, reducing stress on structural components and improving overall performance. In addition to the structural upgrades, ZCS coordinated closely with the District to minimize disruption to school operations, ensuring the project enhanced both safety and functionality while extending the service life of the facility.
